Over the past few decades, Atlanta has become a creative hub of the South. From local startups to businesses inspired by art, Atlanta brings a touch of modernity to Southern culture. Across the city you'll find bars full of life, farm to table restaurants celebrating produce, and Southern classics being served at all hours of the night.

The General Muir

1540 Avenue Pl B-230

Atlanta, GA 30329

(678) 927-9131

The General Muir sticks to its founder's roots as a modern Jewish deli. It is named after a refugee ship that brought the co-owner's grandparents to New York in the late 40's, and aims to bring that classic Jewish cooking to 21st century Atlanta. Their brunch should not be missed, with options from open faced bagels to a variety of noshes, and their dinner offers specials like matzo ball soup, brisket, and pastrami “bacon” cheeseburgers. The spot also brews outstanding coffee, and has an original bar menu with drinks like appley named and savate punch. This is the place to be if you're craving Jewish food down South.
